At the end of September 2021 our current provision of services to Shaw Trust come to an end. However we welcome all referrals from Shaw Trust to continue coming to Ashford Umbrella on those days, and the activities they were taking part in.
We hope to continue a close relationship with Shaw Trust, and provide a service and activities in the near future.
The reasons for this change has come about by the sudden Death of our Coordinator Val French who passed away three weeks after diagnosis on the 27th of May 2021, this has left Umbrella without a helm and a rudder.
Val was the most selflessness, loving, and caring person who gave her all to the users of both Tenterden and Ashford groups, and from the response the trustees have received from the users loved by all.
She kept phoning and contacting users right up to the last few days of her life.
We hope to continue where Val left off, but it doe’s mean our provision of services will be effected until we appoint someone as our new coordinator.
A Job description has been circulated amongst the other providers and we welcome those that have the experience to contact us initially by phone, email, for a copy of the Coordinator Job Description.

We are sorry to say that the provision of services and activities at the Tenterden venue has been suspended for the time being until we have the staff to carry out this service.
But the Trustees intend to have a presence in Tenterden in the near future.
We advise those that were attending the Leisure Centre on the first Wednesday of the month, that Ashford venue is now offering every Wednesday group activities until the staff matter can be resolved.
